At the time of its inception in 2002 GIFT University was the first and only university between Lahore and Islamabad. Setting up a university with purpose-built campus was a big challenge in many ways and providing best quality infrastructure and bringing best faculty to the campus from all over Pakistan was a great task to accomplish.

GIFT University with its idea of re-investing for the betterment and welfare of the students has thus helped to gradually and steadily increase GIFT Advantage Program (GAP) funds and are considered to be highest in the region.
The GIFT Advantage Program (GAP) makes sure that right students avail the financial benefits by making the process of selection transparent, unbiased, easy, fast and available to all without any kind of discrimination.
The scale and the scope of scholarships and financial aid initiatives is very broad to accommodate maximum number of students as well as providing comfort to the parents. GIFT Advantage Program (GAP) initiatives are categorized as follows:
A vast array of scholarship plans is available to acknowledge the efforts of students to advance their education and the desire to learn more.
To accommodate students who excel in their field, or brave the challenges of reality and strive to continue their education, GAP offers scholarships and financial assistance in different forms to eligible students. If a student qualifies to receive more than one scholarship and financial assistance, then he/she will be awarded one with the maximum benefit. Unless specified otherwise, the information applies to all programs offered by the University.

There are several external funding options when it comes to financing students at GIFT University. In addition to the scholarships awarded by the University, we also facilitate our students in securing funding opportunities through various external sources such as the government, industry, various clubs, unions, societies, trusts, foundations and other organizations.
The rules and regulations regarding these scholarships are defined by the specific funding organizations themselves and will be followed accordingly.
Note: Eligible Students are liable to apply for such scholarships and funding opportunities. If a student receives funding from other source, said amount of fee waiver and/or scholarship allowances given by GIFT may be adjusted accordingly.
GIFT University provides financial assistance to needy and talented students who wish to pursue a degree in GIFT University (however, not applicable for BS Textile & Fashion Design, M Phil Linguistic, M Phil English & M Phil Islamic Studies). The magnitude of financial assistance depends upon assessment of the students need.
It may range from 10% to 60%. To apply for Financial Assistance, the student must have scored 55% or above marks or equivalent in his/her latest examination and in case of BS Computer Science and Software Engineering Programs student must have scored 65% or above marks in his/her latest examination. Furthermore, he/she must also be able to demonstrate through documentary evidence that he/she needs financial assistance. For application and continuation of this assistance, please observe the table in terms and conditions.
GIFT University also provides support to needy and talented students by providing them opportunity of “Learn While You Earn (LWYE)”. University offers specific tasks or jobs to the selected students who are then compensated monetarily by adjusting their fee.
There may be flexible 20 hours per week working model. For students seeking the scheme in the first semester, they will not be given tasks that will impact their studies. This is to ensure that they get a grip on GIFT environment and its workings. They will be properly deployed in the second semester with a proper workload. Continuation of the scheme beyond the second semester will be the responsibility of the student that he/she has to contact the Advantage Office for deployment.
For Learn While You Earn (LWYE), the students are also advised to observe the proper jobs opening announcements followed by selection process of the University. This scheme will further facilitate students on top of any scholarship or tuition fee waiver. For more information about list of programs, consult terms and conditions given at the end of this policy.
To apply for Learn While You Earn (LWYE) scheme, the student must secure admission. However, in case of BS Computer Science and Software Engineering Programs student must have scored 50% or above marks in his/her latest examination. This scheme is not applicable for BS Textile & Fashion Design, M Phil Linguistic, M Phil English & M Phil Islamic Studies Programs. Furthermore, he/she must also be able to demonstrate through documentary evidence that he/she needs financial assistance. For application and continuation of this assistance, please observe the table in terms and conditions.
GIFT University also provides interest-free loans to existing needy students who are studying in GIFT University. The requirement for these loans is that the student must have a minimum required degree CGPA and must be able to demonstrate through documentary evidence that he/she needs a loan. The magnitude of the loan depends upon assessment of the student’s need.
The loan is granted subject to several conditions including the applicant must provide a post-dated signed cheque by an acceptable guarantor.
Note: This scheme is not applicable for M Phil Linguistic, M Phil English & M Phil Islamic Studies Programs
In case of Merit and Industrial scholarship, if the CGPA falls below 2.8, the scholarship would be withdrawn or reduced according to the reduction formula table given below.
